Damyan Popovski has been the Head of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group Office in Bulgaria since September 2026.

In this role, he develops the EIB's partnerships with the public and private sectors in the country, promotes the financial products and services of the EIB Group, and supports the preparation of investments in line with the strategic priorities of the European Union, including in the areas of climate and the environment, innovation, cohesion, as well as security and defence.

Before taking over the leadership of the office in Bulgaria, Damyan Popovski served as a Senior Loan Officer in the EIB's Financial Institutions Department. He has over 13 years of professional experience at the EIB, specialising in corporate and structured finance, securitisations and guarantee instruments. He has worked on the structuring and implementation of financial operations in a number of EU Member States, including Poland, Denmark and Cyprus, and in recent years has been responsible for developing the EIB's business with financial institutions in the Baltic States and Denmark.
